I'm still not speaking to him. The history is sort of long, but basically he stole my software and made my company share worthless.
Even in the stuff we did off the books, he found a way to make an extra few hundred DEM without even telling me. He once did say "you don't need it, you already got", meaning that the whole neocapitalist mantra about market was nonsense, my needs were satisfied while his were not, therefore it's quite OK to cut me out.
His wife studied medicine and specialized medicine, specialized gynecology. There are a few medical textbooks that she never returned. Not that we need them.
Just for the record, he should have been a mathematician but quit after half (just as Škrba did). Began carreer as a house coder in Bangro, so I got to know him when they were a customer of DBA. Then he became a junior partner in Avai in 1995. I think. Then some time in 2001. or so he parted ways with Vanji and started the UScrew as the sole owner, and hired Pali, later Cica and dunno whom else. Saw him a few times in 2010-11 but didn't talk.
In the summer of 2010, while we were putting our house together into a livable habitat, we wanted to get new spectacles too. I peeked into the old „Optika“ shop near the end of main street, and saw few people waiting there, him among them. Said „No use going in, there's a crowd in there“. She peeked too and said „look, really crowd“. Since then, we call him, among us, Brlja The Crowd.
In 2013 he became a regular in DC-99 and I kept coming for a while, but then it turned that he became some sort of major organizer there. It was awkward enough to sit in the same room with him and pretend there's nothing to it. The straw that made me stop coming was the tour, or rather a photo safari, of old castles around here, which he organized and then canceled (daughter ill or something). Then next week it did happen but I didn't get the email. Now whether it was sent but got junked, I never bothered to investigate.
Once he complained about having less salary than I, just because of degree. „Big deal, those two years, so trifle...“. Vanji got him there „Right, cunt's smoke*, so why didn't you do them then?“.
„the firm, i.e. me“
„what need have you, you have“
„you don't need that, you have it here“
„wife, stick [your] nose into your work“
„my wife the doctor“
„what were we doing before we had kids? we were making them“

* i.e. nothing, no big deal, trifle
