Don't have much on this month. DBA was working full steam ahead (steam, yeah, right). It would be interesting to look at the code of the time... not now.
Some of unfinished business was catching up with me. The one Janko Letić, chief accountant in the hospital, remembered me and wanted me to come fix something. He was, luckily, already retired, was visiting just to ease in the young colleague who inherited the job. Luckily, I say, becase he was exactly the kind I loved to avoid. When he needed something, he'd find me wherever I may be at the moment, would find transportation for me, everything just to get me by the keyboard to fix whatever was urgent. And then when I'm done, transportation vanishes, and the payment drags for several weeks, even months. He quickly earned a spot on the list for „no problem, coming as soon as you pay the last one, you won't wait for me any longer than I [waited] for you“.
The successor was actually quite friendly, we cooperated well in the remaining few visits, became almost friends. That is, we surely had a few coffee and chat sittings while the operator girls were testing what fixes I wrote. During one such visit I found Milana there, who inherited my seat at Radoja's (v. 26-X-1988.), long did that last, now as a chief IT person in hospital's erc, which still consisted of that one triglav, now with two terminals more. Once I even dropped by for just a chat and a smoke after donating blood. Theoretically I had a day off, but work was waiting for me, ummm, okay, can nick one hour.
On another occasion, I met her in the company of the wife of the doctor from whom we bought the lot to build the house (which I think was at a fair, this year or next, I keep seeing fair). Well, small town. And the madam still looks well, the merry widow. If the former looked weird in the eyes, that was probably because of contact lenses, which were still a relative novelty and maybe didn't sit perfectly, the latter was born like that, you never remember how she looked, just how she looked at you. And so, they were there because the widow published a book... about the zrenjanin jet set. It seems that she, when doctor died, kept navigating those circles, staying in fashion and minding her looks, while gathering the material and hence the book. Though I thought I never even saw the book, my dear reminded me that mom did read that book.
Afer that I think I never saw either of them ever again. Milana too.
We held the big parastos in pivnica. Again, don't remember whether we had the full academy in the city theatre, and what happened with the daily photos (found them - they were in color, not developed well... did we really try to do it with our own čorba?). Looking at the group picture with Marko Bozon, we were almost all there. Left to right, Jasmina, Mima, him, me, Bosa, Baki, Jolpaz, Oli Boj, Bajče, Savka, Staša, Tejka, Milica, Žara. Mandža, Ivanka and Sredljak are missing, but they appeared in the evening.
In IV4, Milica, Gavra, Miljka, Pasa, Jozda, Žuca, Beštara, Ksenija and Duca, plus a few professors, including Radisav. Sofija appeared with her class (IV/1 or /2, the humanities).
In the evening I was experimenting (again) with the true and tried technique of developing the negative 35 minutes instead of the prescribed 20, which didn't turn out right, the light there is not so good. Or my juice was old - decades later the lights were still the same and I made quite a lot of photos. With digital, then, of course.
When the pivnica closed, I guess after two, we moved to the joint between it and the bridge, held as a club of Dramska Radionica Centar (drama workshop Centar - the centre being the name of their local community), on the very bank of the river. We stayed until we saw the sun light up the bridge, drinking slowly and talking in broken voices, squeezing out our bits of wisdom and pure truth. Powerful is the alcohol. I know Pasa took me home in her renault 4. She came across as serious and thoughtful, voice rough just as mine. Wisdom beats hangover. (and nope, this was in 1994, because she drove me to the customs office building, our new area, not to šećerana)
