Had one of my lucid dreams again. It was a scene with a couple singing. She was standing behind a long table, or a counter, and he was standing much closer to me, facing her. I heard the melody, in 3/4 time, simple but developing, and not anything I've ever heard. So I thought, is it possible that I'm composing it as it goes - and I kept listening to it as it went (and they didn't stop), and it went on for a while, maybe a dozen bars. Too bad I couldn't memorize the melody. maybe I would have recognized it when I woke up a while later.
Still... is it possible that I composed it? Or, if I only dreamt that I did, did it really exist, what I dreamt that I heard, or was I only imagining the hearing?
In the morning I managed to shoot this squirrel. She didn't budge even when I came as close as meter and a half. Zoom helped, too. Wrote to rasejani: „...she's almost tame, came to eat some old apple we left for her. If you can't win them, lose them.“ and I attached this shot. Additionally, I grabbed hold of two oldsters from sezam, jAntonov and Paki. Of the former Škrba said „And Paki - the man just evaporated at some point. I remember it coincided with some problems on his sophomore year at college, and his parents were rigid and loved to exercise dominance; I visited him a few times (he was my connection for the first contingents of MRZ files, and then he took me to meet Goldi the first time), and his parents (both!) came to EXECUTE an interview wit hme, who was I what was I and who is that long haired character coming into their house... "Aaaa, the chief IT person at Pik, we know Pik, we love their pašteta...; what, you DID NOT complete the college? DID NOT? Eeeeeh..." And they left Paki's room with a deep frown. Henceforth, Paki VANISHED, and you'll remember he was quite active in the group as an oldwaver-junior. It's entirely possible that they just squeezed his tap tight until he graduates. Ergo, dribble him to come to oldwave list. Nobody will oppose the move, I guarantee.“
At the firm, lots. Some platoon meeting announced for a following day, and meanwhile one by one, whatever comes along. Don't know to whom was this addressed: „this isn't the first time I've seen this kind of design. And they say there's nothing normal about database guys except their tables. Except this is screaming for some normalization... and then we have some places which are just overnormalized“ - it was in skype and can't find the other party. Must be some fresh pack of data for conversion.
Laura asked whether my upFeds made any problems when used.
Das complains about speed going wildly up and down in Glasgow. Seems to be a new admin installed McAfee's antivirus, which finds it highly suspect that Feds writes so much on disk and thinks it needs to check all of it. Left it to him to see with that admin about file extensions to leave out from the controlled list. I heard this scenario fifty times already, fifty more ahead.
David has his account days, so he'll throw Daniel into the baptism by fire, into the tech call. Oliver also chimed in, with some data about available cameras which can be hooked (into a microscope?) and connected straight into Feds, so I went on explaining to him how to upload these three peedyeffs to George's wiki without having to retype. He was also in touch with our liaison officer in Brisbane, but via private email, so Laura told him to forward that to the support email to have it registered in Sugar, or else it's not just lost, it never happened. Something about the freezebox inventory too, someone needs a full history on any item - sperm, egg, whatever - if the inventory taken discr...epes? discreeps? with the books, to see where and when it was and where it went. Hana has a list of remarks about some financial reports, passed them to Daniel.
And, of course, the Kimberley has a long list of complaints... for one, an unpaid bills report now churns some 200 pages, while the old report was much shorter. Laura replied that she'll have all of that fixed in 5.2.31.43... Which will indeed fix that, but some other issues will appear, and so on, we'll be entertained for years.
News from dad, since Tejka fell into a coma. She was found by the path through the little park in front of Lesnina. Her husband keeps sitting at the television set, bitching about the politicians and not moving a dick. Him we saw a total of twice, many years ago at that, so I have no clue who and what he may be today. Her sister, then, asked for her share of the apartment while their mother was still alive, under stroke, immobile but fully aware... And „we didn't know (at least I didn't) that her husband was a minister. Well she and husband and son are all completely unhooked“. Them I also saw a total of twice, at the weddings of Ivka and Tejka, which were both quite a while ago. I know the guy was something in Belgrade, now whether it was in science, in some institute or whatever, I couldn't say.
Ever since we're here, there was snow 2-3 times (not counting those that thaw in two hours), two of which happened on a sunday, so they had the time to get ready, announce etc. Last winter, however, they misestimated the one day with icy rain, so they didn't declare it a snowday, and there were accidents, lots of. One teacher even died in traffic.
Nina wants to sell the car, just to paint it first - she's got the paint, got the compressor - just waits for a weekend when it's dry and not too cold. At work they plan to close the division where she works. Today she brought a bag full of advertising stuff from the job - coffee cups, car shaped sponges, baseball caps, keychains, including the bag itself. That's in the category of „free stuff, just take it“, much cheaper than later having to pay for them to be taken away, when the shop gets closed. At work there's not much work to be done, she's paid to just be there in case something needs to be done. Her boss comes to work at times, not at other times, he's so out of the rhythm that on friday he thought it was a wensday.
Go sent shots from her job in Seatlle, from the top terrace where they go out for smoke breaks, there's even a barbecues, a life of leasure. For two days they had incredible sunsets, it's facing west over the bay, third day she brought the shooter (later known as eos40) but the sunset wasn't bad but not even close to those two. They often party on that terrace.
The branch of the firm where she works is already receiving offers to be taken over, i.e. if the main office comes to a conclusion that it needs to sell something to preserve the rest, this branch is a sure cash source. She said that (for exactly that reason) there's a hefty budget to complete this game - the alpha testing should commence in a couple of weeks, to see that the game is viable, to exterminate the critical bugs in the logic etc, and then by springtime they should move to beta testing, to spit and polish it into a product. The artists usually don't have much to do in these final phases, because any larger changes are impossible, as they'd involve too many changes elsewhere and lots of work for others, so she expects to move to another game by that time. Meanwhile she's getting to fix stuff done by interns - someone was enchanted with the fresh ideas these guys were supposed to have, and then it turned out they botched a lot of the work, and the ideas weren't fresh at all, utterly lacked originality, dejavu painted all over the place. She's gaining some fame as a savior - when in a tight corner, call Go, she's the only one who can get you out on time.
The ugly chemtrails at sunset, sky netted over. On ppp they keep trying to convince me that it's a natural phenomenon. Yeah, right, how come it doesn't happen in Russia, is there something unnatural afoot over there? The people are gonna die from those unnatural phenomena. I often visit Panoramio, and I see clear skies there, except in Piter, where the wind often brings shit from Finland.

So the last guy who lived and worked with the company he mostly owned was replaced with the new owner, who then gambled the shop on the stock exchange and screwed up.
