The tobacco from Herzegovina. It's often confused with any peasant's tobacco, because back in the days of the kingdom, tobacco was a state monopoly and if you were rolling your own, you were in contraband.
It's probably the best one I ever smoked, and I was able to find it in more or less regular supply between 1976, when I found it in the little shop across the street from the house where I lived then (in Novi), until november 1987, when I last bought it at Politika's kiosk at the start of my street. From the other end of the street came Sloba's demonstrators (and at the time it was only clear what they were against, not what for), which soon brought the break in the internal trading lines in the country - and the tobacco sliced by a factory in Croatia was obviously blacklisted, and I never saw it again. And never will, as the factory fell victim of the wildass capitalism that still haunts all of ex-Yu countries.
There's a legend that Staljin smoked that, and never ran out of it, even after the breakup of 1948. Or he just bragged of having it, just to show he could get things from SFRY (still FPRY then) whenever he liked.
