Tito in Prague, day three. We're big friends with Czechoslovakians, I remember them flashing their headlights at us while we passed there. I first thought it's the owners of fićas greeting each other, just like the owners of škodilaks did here, but after mere five times I understood that they recognized that we were from Yugoslavia and that was why.

In the theory of socialismo there were, at least in european sense, two conceptions. There was the „really existing socialism“, soon abbreviated to realsocialism, and that was what USSR and the eastern bloc had. We unhooked from it as early as 1948 and went on our [own] road, into selfmanagement and democracy, and thus created the other conception. ČSSR went their own way this year, and if they didn't quite follow us, we coincided in many ways, and this Tito's visit was a big expression of our support. We probably, under the hay, supported them in various other ways, just like USSR supported their own everywhere (and commanded them).

I remember spending the evening riveted to the television set and swallowing each word spoken by Tito, Aleksandar Dubček and Ludvik Svoboda.
