Was in VIII2 in elementary, then IV3 in gimnazija and then graduated the maths one day ahead of me (such was the exam schedule). Didn't leave an impression of an overall smart guy, but actually is. Probably because of his manner of speech, which I couldn't ever quite get. At the faculty I was actually avoiding him, his speech gimmicks were annoying. But for all that, we were kind of roommates for about a month and a half (he had the second room to himself, Ljuba and I the first).
Worked first for Big Ćale, then in DBA for a few years (we overlapped there for a few months in 1994), then went to teaching. Widowed, two daughters (of course, mathematician). One daughter married to the son of Miljka.
For a while I thought he got the job at Big Ćale's erc on behalf of being a son of a prominent politician, and that he got it far before I did. Not the case - his dad was in the trade unions, which were a political institution of at least secondary importance, and even there not above province level. He actually got that job as late as 1982, after vojska - I at least managed to grab one year before that.
When the shit has hit a serious fan in DBA, when they peed thin and yet had to pay the damages as per court verdict, he thanked them for their cooperation and went into education. He worked wherever they sent him - in Njujork, in gimnazija (when the one in Trbnjevo was closed and the remaining students moved there), mostly in elementary in Lalinski, where he stayed until retirement.
