19-VIII-1998.

This is the date on the opislt.dbf I found (in 2019). It's one of the metadata tables in GenerAll, containing some framework related records which could be used in any app's help file. The "opis" (description) is the standard prefix for most of the meta tables I had; the LT seems to come from "negativ leletek" (negative findings), the standard pieces of text for various forms of "not found" which were helpful for quick text entry in many cases in DentoSys and PolC. It got connected to the help system of GenerAll (ie. I used a piece developed for the app's data entry to help data entry int the help system of the framework; it got a bit recursive there) on 06-II-1997., long after these apps. The genhlp's history actually begins on 08-V-1994., in Délkút.

Some time this month Avai arranged a two day lecture on CAT5 networks, as Laza passed some certification with RIT (an israeli company, IIRC) so we had an edge and wanted to sell it. It was held at city hall, courtesy of Mika Fišer himself and some of Vanji's connections. I heard the seven levels of networking again, as per IBM's definition which I heard ten years ago, and then finally some beginners' stuff neatly laid out about TCP/IP. I knew most of that already, but it always feels good to have the tiles lined up.

It all went fine and dandy and probably got us some business in the coming months. When it was over, we sat with Mika Fišer (already somewhat drunk) in the garden bar, the weather was perfect and Cica had a skirt. We all went bonkers, couldn't get our eyes off her, even though it began just above the knees. She was always wearing trousers at work, and now we see the good reason for that - we'd never get much done with such a distraction. OK, we also drank some. Nothing ever happened, AFAIK, though there's always some doubt. Perhaps Joška... nobody knows.

Go went for a vacation to Budva, with a friend. The girls seem to have had great time, judging by the excellent shots. She even hooked some classy frajer, from Vrdnik or thereabouts, but when he tried to visit her afterwards, she lost interest. She also met autolala there, which I completely forgot but saw him on the photos.

I had already finished the staircase at the entrance and to the basement. I did that slowly, having possibly started two years ago, in dry cement, one step a day. For the postament, i.e. landing by the door, both main and Johan's, I used the stoned cement from 1986 - fuckit, we always bought more and never used it all on time, such was our rhythm - and stumps of brick or siporeks. The visible surfaces I did in brick, not the nice smooth one we built the basement with, but something of flimsier class, don't quite remember when and why we bought that, may be for the chimney in 1993, and this was the leftovers. The steps, one at a time, I did by building a fence of newspaper, with some board behind it, supported by a couple of larger siporeks blocks. The concrete being dry, the pressure wasn't much, so this worked. I had to press it in from above with a trowel, which I did successfully... except on the fourth one from the bottom, by the basement, where a couple of centimeters of the edge crumbled soon.

And now I went down to do something, nothing big nor cumbersome but time consuming, so I took my 400ml large cup of coffee along. But when my clog's heel hit exactly the missing edge, where the step is narrower by that little, I slammed my back, around the seventh rib, below the shoulder blade, on one of the above steps. I stayed quite composed, even salvaged half of the coffee. I did keen and puff when moving the hand for a few days afterwards.

I never fixed that step. We barely ever go downstairs.
