To work, via Bački Breg. Also possible we made a stopover at some outfit in Bezdan, who was our customer.
The lady there complained, almost cried, how some travelling salesman screwed her over. She bought some encyclopaedia or other book by the meter, and the asshole took the original contract with him, and left her one of the copies which have, on fourth page, two extra articles, whereby he's allowed to call in the rest of the debt whenever he chooses, and to charge any late fees imaginable at whim. The guy was that kind of scum, to have such trick contracts pre-printed and to submit them to unsuspecting customers to sign. I don't know how this ended, but we heard the story so far at least three times while we were there.
The apps situation there wasn't merry either - they ran DBA's apps which Ileš once installed, and we kind of maintained them, without ever having the time to replace them with our own. Sorrow and chaos, I don't know how we managed. Push to turn on, blow to turn off.
There's a printout of my longest SF stories with this date on one of added notes on the first page. I think I printed it the previous week and went through the text when I had the time. I'd say I added this note when we got there, and we ate something and just killed time in our rooms, preparing for the next day's work.
I did have a machine in the room, though, but it's quite possible that it was sold and gone. I was quite used to that and never trusted machines at home to hold anything permanently. What's not on a floppy is not mine.
