udbaš

(Translation, Yugoslavia)

An agent or snitch for The Service. The service changed names - first OZNA (odeljenje za zaštitu naroda - division for protection of people), then UDBA (uprava državne bezbednosti - state security authority), then SDB (služba društvene bezbednosti - social security authority)(the "social security" in the US is a misnomer), last I heard it's BIA (bezbednosno-informativna agencija - security-informational agency).

I'm not sure I had a file there. Maybe some small one, as an "potential element" or some such, at the time all those Germans and the Dutch were my guests here.
