BS&T

(Band, USA)

Actually don't have much to write about „Blood, sweat and tears“ beyond what I wrote for 21-VI-1970., they were, simply, the first foreign band whose gig I attended. May that period contain a note on how Tejka pronounced them as „blutz vetn teerz“.

I did like the idea of jazz rock at the time, I was stoked, as I am today, on complicated and rich music. Apart from the hype of that week ahead of the concert, and for a while afterwards, I did get acquainted with their music a bit better, as Pop had a couple of their albums, the early ones.

I began to cool off somewhat, when I bought, around 1976, an album of theirs, perhaps fourth or fifth, published under licence here. Somehow this wasn't it anymore, they seemed somewhat lost, or couldn't find where they shelved the rock, this was all some tepid jazz, no smell no stink. I got rid of that record on 24-II-1978..

Even if they began to hose it away in their latter years, what they initially did remains as it ever was, so since the initial wave of Napster I started collecting their stuff among others. The trouble was that I also downloaded some long recording of a live gig, and it really sounded as I remembered them, sound was great, but now I understood english much better than [I did] then... Eventually that recording flew away from [my] disk, and I'm still not sure of other live recordings. I'm having less and less patience for the religious bullshit from David Claymore Thomas.
