september 1981.

She came to visit me, for the weekend. I have announced the visit properly, and of course got the saturday and sunday off. Had to sleep in the barracks, though. I think it was the weekend of 12th, but then could as well been the one before, the weather still being so very nice, not a cloud. This is seaside, and the summer is still in full blast. Too bad I was in uniform, it's been a while since we were last time alone on the coast.

uncle Staja was employed by the military housing enterprise, as a carpenter, and it seems the Šibenik unit lacked those, so he was here several times, a few weeks each time, fixing the doors, windows, kitchen cabinets and whatnot in the military apartments. He stayed with some colonel, in an apartment half way between my barracks and the railway station, in some novogradnja, I think 2nd floor (3rd american). Judging by the surname, the colonel should have been a Dalmatian or Ličanin. This was our hideout for the time being.

We went straight there, to meet the man. uncle Staja immediately gave us a task, to go to the market and buy what we need for lunch, to which he invited himself. Okay, alright, just as long as we're together somewhere. We bought also some house sneakers, tiny opanak like things, for Go. She said it would be good that she wears something from dad, to keep in touch.

I have no idea what we were doing and where we went those two days. I remember only that after the lunch uncle Staja and colonel and his wife found some urgent reasons to be elsewhere. They remember how it was.

She also brought me the photos she made. She knew the whole process, even put together the ID-19 herself, did everything right. Excellent shots, and I saw how the bathroom and kitchen we made all looked great and functioned smoothly. Go is sweet and then more sweet. Beautiful shots from home, from that bathroom, and they even took her to our accacia forest in Zajač, some with tetka. Dressed her up in that new skirt-pants, simply a candy.

But, fuckit, I still have almost three hundred days left...

On sunday evening I saw her to the evening train.
