The majstor came, some guy from next street, don't know where we found him, I guess he did some work for dad, that's the guy who bought the old škodilak. Okay, if he was good enough for you... though, I should have known how dad's choice of majstors is a hit and miss.
Still, he did everything as we told him - replaced all three faucets, now we have some italian jobs, looking quite good. Not that the old ones were bad, but they were 18 years old, not in use for last eleven, and we could see how the ceramic valves got scratched, there was a brown trace where water dripped into the tub.
They took down our old Končar water heater, which held fine 1981-1999, and now we're putting a tankless one, why heat the water and then not use it, and why should we worry whether there'll be enough hot water to finish the bath. I went with the guy to buy whatever was necessary - the heater, faucets, new crapper (the old turkish job was too narrow for our production, got clogged too many times), the crapper tank and, ah... the crapper seat.
In the shop they had all kinds of fancy shmancy seats, from transparent plastic with things inside - flower petals, bearing balls... and one with barbed wire. Ouch... what if it breaks? So I opted for a classic one, but in bright red. Can't buy that in the US, no way. Let's have something bright in there.
Tightening up the bathtub exhaust took most of the time, the space below it is cramped and the lowest point of the pipe actually goes below the concrete. The way I fit it back in 1993 was relying on that one screw, which bit into a piece of plastic, which then gave. So he and his worker toiled there for a while. The worker could be his son, or step son, and I sort of remember he was a cop at his day job. Anyway, in the evening we still didn't have any hot water, because the guy wouldn't touch any wires, you need a three phase cable here... Well, the cable for the electric heater in the basement is one meter away. But no, he wouldn't touch it, just told us of a guy who can do it, near the community center.
At least one autopatch, while I wait... amazed at how empty the yard is.
The next day we put our bed together and placed it in blue room. No sleep yet, the mattresses are missing. We still have the old ones, but we'll dump them.
Nina sent us some photos, to show how the tomatos, cucumbers and squash that we planted are growing.
