In the morning, at DC-99... found out there was yet another article about us in the local papers.

In the afternoon the parents of that idiot from DC-99 came (the older of the two act photographers), I was not enchanted. Then Milivoje with the madam, even less. Then it was Peyton on TV, so I was dismissed. Went early to town. I took that hat of this summer and gave it to the band ("Pa šta onda" it was this evening) to wear on the stage. Gavra had a haircut. Invented a gee four system for fast walking through the crowd, with lots of right angle changes of direction.

I noticed one... cute, spruced up, long straight blonde hair, over shoulder... I got to try her. I danced with her, and tried all the tricks, and it was all kind of alright, but she wanted to switch from comforter hall to the disco hall, then switch back... so during the "who catches what" I decided to show my hand, and tried to kiss her. She had reflexes of a cat, and evaded me masterfully. Seeing how we stand, I said "if you're trying to run away, say so and I'll let you go, or else you'll fail". But she succeeded - at some point she left me with her friend and just "wait here for me". Of course, she didn't return, and I'm not even sure I ever talked with her again (saw her a few times, my folks were buying potatoes from hers, she may have been on the tractor; also a couple of times on korzo). I see that I'm left with this one... and she ain't bad either, somewhat less made up but doesn't matter. Also a blonde (and this one, as it turned out, a natural one, not sure about the former), hair somewhat former, pleasant face, doesn't look so artificial at all. Except when she speaks, it's as if she's using someone else's words, doesn't come natural. One would expect it, being a senior in a gimnazija. And every now and then she holds my hand, leans on me... alright, it's a deal.

And then it was time to go. I went to the band to get my hat and jacket (must have left it behind the stage, perhaps even has some wine with them), and she to the wardrobe to get her coat, with a "make sure you return here" (word "obligatory" was used). This looks kind of serious...

She lives somewhere on hospital side, it will be 5km on the way back, but we didn't go the regular way. Took the other bank of the river, where there's a park, and a bench. It's october and the clothing gets a tad complicated already, but I got where I wanted, more or less... but it's unwieldy so we just walked to her place. During that walk she asked "are you sorry that you're not with her?" (meaning Gorica, now I know the name). Whoa, comrade, this is far better. The house across the street has an inset door, almost booth sized, perfect, I saw that she had that in mind...

I was thirsty all night. As Jozda said, "that's the price of sex". Well this isn't quite it, but it's getting really close.

And that's how I met Branka. This time it was completely clear that they agreed quickly, look at this guy, glued to me, but I just don't want, do you? Just pass him to me. Well, why not, I see she's willing and has the same itch as I do. And it tickled me that she's a senior, older than me and hey, all of a sudden it doesn't matter that I'm seventeen. Which was the main problem last two months.

Next day waited for her after her school (she's from the 2nd, therefore afternoon shift now, ummm... probably social sciences) and we walked to the club. I have the keys... and always wanted to try something in the lab. "Come see how one can see no light from inside here", and I turned on the red light.

We got out on time for our buses. Met Čarga while waiting, had some fun with him. She says she's still condiering me a senior, my claim to be seventeen sounds like a good joke.

Menwhile, Tito's interview to „Vjesnik“: „we need an avantgarde party“, „we need to purify our party“ from careerists, „with democracy we went too wide“, „no liberalism and no soft spots have place here“ - „we must be merciless“ in the fight for the interests of the working class. Party must be the cohesive force in each republic, „I'd gladly rest, but... must work“ to consolidate the country. Two days later he lectures the serbian leaders (rukovodstvo - literally, handguideship), on how they are too independent and defying the central [party] line, that the other republics are dissatisfied with the concentration of capital in serbian banks and commerce... True that, Inex and Genex (as Moma Kapor would say „Aneks maneks interkontinental“) were treading on my nerves, their advertising was aggresive and buildings too luxurious. Later it will turn out that they passed unscathed, but the industry was beheaded, the directors who knew the job were ousted and a lot of things started going downhill.

As it were, the party reminded itself that it was in power, so the next couple of years there'll be various attempts to put that power to practice, but the genie had long forgotten from which bottle it escaped.

In Chile the truckers and a few others went on strike. Later it will be revealed that they were in Cia's pay. Soko Štark issued the first „smoki“. Fiat published its model 126, replacement for the old 500 (the predecessor of fića). The 126 will later be manufactured in Poland and imported from there to here, nicknamed „peglica“ (literally: little ironing iron).
