The passport stamps are a bit confusing for this day, it seems to say I both exited and entered Hungary. There's a lot of code written on this day, seems like all the forms were rebuilt from scratch, but only in DentoSys, which is Joška's, and it's possible that he stayed home that week and worked from there (or from Avai, even... although I don't think we hired him yet). A mystery. Where was I?
Seeing that we were in Budapest the day after, it's quite possible we crossed the border just after midnight on sunday evening. With Joška, he was there the next day.
There was another trip to Budapest around this time - Mihály and don't know who else were hosting a prominent yugoslav gynecologist or some such, I know I recognized the name at once, hoping that the guy would push the sales of PolC on our side of the border. The translation was practically ready, just needed a customer. They had quite a dinner, not missing out on Budapest hookers in their laps. It cost what it cost, and came to nothing. The old man was, by then, just a name and a legend, without any influence where it mattered.
We got new istallation disks (or was it diskettes still? we had perhaps one seedy on five machines...) with a fresh beta version of 95 windowses. Just for kicks I picked serbian localization, and got my codepage defined as 866, cyriljics for DOS. I don't remember seeing any window title in cyrillic, though. There were a few dozen other languages to choose... and then in the next set of disks there were none. m$ seems to have overextended itself, then saw that they didn't have the wherewithal (or crew) to complete the job, so they just pulled the handbrake.
