Bug fixing day... found that one form's internal .name changed from uppercase to propercase, which caused the form not to be found in a couple of places, which then broke something that used to work (finding the list of emails to offer to send the export from the current Crystal report). Sherlocking that was, ahem, interesting.

In the evening we just had the idea that we could all go out for dinner, and to a different place. Semi-randomly, kaštel was suggested - haven't been there last year, only the year before, and even then we went without her (saxo only takes five). So OK, we packed Raja and went there. There were several cars parked, which is a bit strange for a friday evening... is there a wedding? Nope, the tables aren't pulled together - actually, these are round tables, which can't, but then weddings would be in the other hall, where ours was. We just looked where to sit, and a waiter offered one of the tables on the side. While we were seated, the remaining three tables were also taken. Good timing. Still doesn't look like a wedding, but why is it full on a friday? And everybody is sort of dressed, though nothing glamurous, just the better edition.

Raja occupied the place. Ran from the toilets to the corridor where the hotel rooms are, sat on the leather sofas in the lounge and generally had good time. While we were at the first drink, one lady just came and started talking to him close to his ear - the music was rather loud and we couldn't understand what. Well, at least he has one lady fan who is not a waitress.

Asked a waiter for something to read, perhaps a menu - said there's no menu, everyone gets the same. I shrugged and just notified him that we have a vegetarian. No menu? Maybe they have something special that is so popular that they have a full house.

While we were busy with Raja in the lounge, someone took the microphone from the band and made a little speech. Something about the company finally sitting together... ah, this is some anniversary of the local newspaper. A company party, which we accidentally crashed. Nobody checked who we were, no invitations, just sit, drink and eat. Looking around, I expected the few people I'd expect to see at an aniversary like this - Živa, Joška, Mika Fišer, but it seems they didn't invite any of the past luminaries. Then I spotted one guy, so I could at least look like one of the gang... got him out into the lobby and we talked long, back and forth. This is the first time in six years that the new owner put in one room the people from the four or more newspapers in Vojvodina that he bought - most of them never met each other, which is probably why nobody noticed that we weren't invited.

In the end, I tried to pay. Went to the bar, talked with the floor chief, explained the course of events, and "... I was not invited here, I never worked in the papers, so... what's the tab?". The guy just patted me on the elbow and told me not to worry. Costs nothing.

My guess is that the hotel was paid a bulk sum for this evening, and the cash register wasn't even open. Which explains why the waiters were a bit grumpy - no tips.

Ender laughed all the way home. He said he and his friends crashed many parties in their day, just appearing at random Phillipino families in the area - at least half of the time they'd know somebody in there, or could plausibly claim to be looking for someone else's party, and would be invited to stay. But crashing an office party - he's got nothing that can beat that.

The next day, just in case, we dined at Banatska, regular soup and gulaš. The snow wasn't much, perhaps 15cm. Ender had an extra pohovano steak. Since it was only about 19:00 when we finished there, we visited dad on the way home, and then went to Roda to get some groceries.

I made lots of shots. This autopatch was made two years later, when I realized I could do it.

In the evening, I unpacked and installed LightRoom 4.3 (with an adjoining little app called keygen). Actually, a few years later I did make a honest attempt to buy something from Adobe, just to balance the universe a bit, but then... well, once it was for Firriver, when we tried to produce questionnaires aka progress notes aka medical records in form of editable pdf, or pdf with embedded form. Didn't materialize, because in their attempt to make a monopoly, Adobe kept changing the format of how the entered values are embedded, so for any format we'd pick, a certain percentage of patients would have an incompatible PDF viewer. We could have paid 9000$ to have a document server, but then each patient would have to install the specific version (and to regularly update when they next fart the idea to change the format, I guess).

There was another attempt, few years later, when Adobe (mud brick) and I almost got on terms around the price for Lightroom, and luckily there was a trial version, which I tried o install on gugolj. The installation failed halfway, silent as a shit in the grass, no error, just quit. Later I dug out that it just won't install on 32-bit windowses. How hard can it be to check the prerequisites first and show a message before even attempting to install? The other issue was after 24-IX-2016., when I tried to process the shots from the new camera. It lacked a deeellelle for that type of raw files, but it's not that it was reporting which version of which file was missing, it's that it just did nothing, said nothing. Well fuck you, where did you learn programming, at m$? There I quit Adobe and we never met ever after.
