Overyester she got to make a homemade yeast culture, by a recipe she found, out of nothing. One simply takes some flour and water, mixed 1:1, and leaves it overnight; the next day more is added in the same proportion, so it takes a small amount initially, or a larger jar - this is repeated each day. In a week she should have something that should be capable of leavening the dough to make bread.

Just another working day today, almost. I was just churning away the changes in the query designer - the associated files shouldn't be lying around on disk and relying on the export-import mechanism to transfer them from one database to another, they should be stored inside the db, zipped. Then Jan called and showed me a nice trick how to do scrollable containers - simply use scrollable forms and show them inside another form. OK, needs some work but it is so much easier than using containers.

Around noon Veca called. First I was happy - thought they finally decided to visit us, but no. Sneca has died. Funeral tomorrow. Galloping carcinome did her in just two months.

During the afternoon had several video chats with Nina, with Raja being his charming self - started running around the house, barely a month after having officially become a walker. And then a brief text chat with David, about composing a working plan for Nina, then they talked among themselves (he from central London this time), and thus she became a member of Firriver.

Then we went on with more instructions - she installed SQL 2005 express, and a few other things.
