We took Go for a walk to the local community center (wasn't built yet, just the place where it's now) in the park at Lesnina. The paved path around the building will, amazingly, be where this beaten path was.

Most of the way I carried her in a kind of a backpack, with frame of iron pipes, the kind used for camp furniture. Borrowed it from that girl with whom I talked at length on 11-X-1972.. We pushed a stroller just in case she wouldn't like to be carried like this, but no, she did like it. Better view, I guess.

Made a dozen pictures before going there, and this one on the spot. Probably within a minute with the event of the day.

When we came home, a bit after 15:30, everybody was glued to the TVs. Tito had died. Or, at least, it was made public.

He was wise enough to know how a personality cult, even as colorful as his was painted, causes chaos and disarray in its wake, so the general feeling of calm and dignified mourning was undisturbed by any fear. People just counted on the genius to have predicted how things will go after his death, and didn't worry much - which was a good self-fulfilling prophecy.

It lasted another eight years before serious cracks started appearing, and two more before the shooting started.
