When I stumbled upon this photo, it was rather confusing. By the angle of the light and general ambience, it looked like it was shot in the old Dom, in the space in the butt end of the big hall where disco was, behind the partition wall where the deejay's cabin was (Sleš, of course).
Furthermore, the next shot is this - and this is him, and his mikseta. On top of it, the dates on the panel are 22nd and 31st december 1974, which is when the Dom was already torn down. Belatedly I noticed that it couldn't have been shot there, there was simply no room for me to put this much distance for this size of scene, the space was barely two meters wide. And it doesn't say „Youth home“, it says „Center for culture“, which seemed to be the new name for the same [thing]. Guess they tried to separate the institution for the building. If the building was gone, the staff remained. This must be in that space behind the „Tisa“ tavern by the orthodox church, where the disco was that winter and the whole ambience was just transfered.
The adjacent shots from the same negative really fit into this month. It's quite possible that this was the time when I started taking shots of these nightlier scenes, which was heretofore prone to failure - guess someone from the club passed the trick to make that kodak's d76 developer and run it for almost half an hour, to gain those magical 6 din extra, which is two lense stops. Further confirmed by the knit cap she made last month and has it on some adjacent shots...
And this makes it possible that this is when I started taking shots as a reconstruction of what I couldn't shoot last year. This bar seems like it was shot right there (same series), though in my head it fits into old place, last year. Who'd know - here, it's Žika the waiter, and Arpi's pal (who'll be his tentmate in the summer), everything as it was on 13-I-1974..
So, in the end, I don't know when this was shot. Either the panel with the december's dates was made in advance and all of this (or some of it) was really shot in the old Dom, or I simply messed it up when I distributed the shots into months. Can't possibly know, it's been more than fifty years since.
