Łodz. They didn't have a proper camp, so we camped in some kind of park. Nobody bothered us, probably because their (and ČSSR) tourists did the same in our country - raised tents anywhere by the road.
Aranka and I were sent with some złoty to buy milk. They guessed, rightfully, that my knowledge of Russian (two years in school) and English would get us through easier than them. We went around the park and actually hitchhiked an old man with a horsecart, who dropped us a couple of blocks later at the shop. The shop was just a little thing on the ground floor in some novogradnja blocks. We came back with a story of our first foreign adventure.
