The local construction kombinat, they built half the city - all of ruža, Lesnina, 13., new Dom and vodotoranj. The 'I' in the name should mean 'industrial', but I fail to remember what factories thay had, perhaps the gravel port. Formally, they were a kombinat, but I equally fail to remember its member firms.
They built well and to last. Of its name there's now the logo on top of the building where once sdk was in the basement, and a folklore society which still bears the name.
They also had a few smaller enterprises - Zangrap (zanatsko građevinsko preduzeće - artisanal construction enterprise, founded while this style of abbr. was still en vogue), for pipes, wires and surface work, Aranžer (arranger, but the word here mostly means either the musician who writes the split of a larger composition by instruments for a specific orchestra, or one who puts up shop windows) for flooring, wallpapers, enterieurs of restaurants and shops, and also their own construction materials wholesale. The latter was partly there to buy what the main branch needed for construction, and partly to sell the excess amounts retail-like. Even our tiles (in the anteroom and yellow room) came from their lumberyard.
