20-XII-2001.

The meeting of PAFOX in Fairfax. Went there to meet Berix, she's a regular member, and it's good to meet at least once in person before starting actual work.

My Ford (hemorrhoid) was giving me serious trouble for days. I'd sometimes sleep on the carpet, finding that position somehow less uncomfortable. I was learning to crap, from scratch, in such a way that it doesn't hurt too much. Drank something with lots of fiber, to soften the stuff. It helped, suppositories also helped, but all in all it was really bad. It took a few weeks to taper off. So when we met there, an hour or two in advance so we'd have the time to sit and talk, it was the sitting down part that didn't feel good.

We dined in some restaurant nearby, and this was the first time I met blue cheese. It was in the salad dressing - and mind you, she ate the salad as an entree (which would be appetizer in american english... ah the confusion), I as a sidedish. No matter how much I may have gone native in these two years, even started taking my coffee for a walk at times, eating salad with nothing, or vice versa, eating nothing with salad was beyond my ken. And the blue cheese... aaaah, gives me the feel in my mouth as if I have regurgitated. Or would, in about two seconds. So I avoided those parts as much as I could.

Managed to complete the dinner and even drive home without a problem. Getting off the car seat in the end was the problem, though.

(decided the date of this by the sense of smell, as I didn't preserve the emails, made no pictures, and only remember it was end of december and a tuesday - so this is it, no way it could have been the 27th)
