Started taking down Stari Drek - Deep Shit 9. Because of music I already had the mule bring me whatever crossed my mind. Completed the fifth season, moving on slowly... Two episodes snuck in dubbed in french, but then why not. These two years since Lena is learning it (and got a special praise from ms Savino, because the others after two years still can't pronounce flambé, but stubbornly stay with flambay :), I picked a lot of stuff from her and figured out some things, so it's almost a pity that I won't be going to Belgium... I think in two weeks I'd speak it at least as much as I spoke hungarian after two months :)

Finished moving the shop (it was all laid out in the big bedroom upstairs, and now the ground floor is sufficiently finished - the partitioning wall/shelf to pretend to divide the big room but actually to support the ceiling, which begin to sag a little, then the carpet, painting the walls and still left to screw with are the trimming slats all around the floor, so now I'll have no reason to go up/down the stairs every now and then, not to mention that the fridge is now dangerously close. That time three years ago when I worked for Orion Sopstver (v. house dictionary), during those two weeks in Cueblo it was a dinner every evening somewhere, and then I slapped on two kilos which I still fail to take off. And I got down to 81 last summer, but it came back. Now I'm getting off peanuts, so we'll see, if I spot the line anywhere below 82 it'll be nice.

Now for the amp and speakers...

Nina driver's exam. The test was a cakewalk, which we knew already. On the driving test she floored the examiner, by driving the corolla which has the stick shift. Probably the lady doesn't quite know how to do it herself. And this practical part was a drive around the block, four right turns, only the parking had to be exited and entered leftwards, plus she had to park the car.

While we were waiting for her turn (I had to drive, because she was still without a licence), three rows behind us was another father with a daughter, who was reading a thick book. I soon guessed the title of the book, because an attendant came for some reason and addressed her as „Trillian“. May Douglas Adams live long and prosper.

And there was an event. Just when she was about next in line, there was a fire alarm and they evacuated the building. The firem... firepers.. firefighters came. We stood outside for two hours until [the situation] cleared. And what happened? Dust in one computers started to emit stench of smoke. There was no flame, just enough smoke particles to trigger a detector somewhere.

On UA:

>Now, of course, we call the highway "highway", even when it's not an overpass. Even when it's an underpass under an overpass, we still call it a highway. Must refer to speed rather than altitude, I guess.

Here in the states half of these are wrong anyway.

I've come to an idea that my ashes may be mixed into concrete to make a bar floor, so everyone can come and have a drink on me. May even be good for the bar's business.

Actually, the advertising on the web has been tamed by the Gugao. You get a stamp sized space - one sentence and a link - and that's it, and no more than four of those, plus one or two sponsored links. Nobody's shouting at you (the reason I don't listen to the radio in the car, and why all of my family has the reflex to mute the TV as soon as ads begin), no more flashing, dancing, popping up, resizing your browser - all but gone.

Eh, the merry times when Gugao was taming the ads...

And, finally, by reading down the daily messages, I found that this was the year when we were subscribed to Harper's. Not that I'd agree with more than, perhaps, quarter of the articles, but at least these were interesting to read and the language was good. None of replacing „I said 'what?' and he said 'told you so!'...“ with „and I was like 'what' and he was like 'toldya so'...“ or „we'll open the door“ with „what we're going to do now is we'll open the door“ and other such bullshit. The subscription ran for a year, and I didn't renew. They didn't have that much to say.
