Message from my parents that Žarko landed in NYC and got stranded in Harlem with 30 other au pair guys.
minute ago Aleksandar's wife called from Vršac. Žarko has problems. He arrived to New York with a friend, all as agreed and planned, but when they got there, someone took them to Harlem and left there. Of work nothing. Whether it's because it's a weekend or it's total unorganization, she doesn't know, but says that in 5km circle there are no whites.
They found an orthodox church, but she doesn't know how much may they help. Mom gave her your phone number and explained that you are not at home, only the girls, which doesn't change matters. He will call them. It wouldn't hurt if you called them and explained. He's desperate, and chances are, if nothing changes he'd return home.
In short of latest news. The trabant is finally gone. Yesterday Dragiša's son returned from the army, and drove his father with his car today. I instrued Dragiša about the base features of a twocycler and there went traba.
Today also Tejka visited, so she greets you a lot.
So someone got them there, fixed them some summer visas (but tied to himself, can't work elsewhere). I talked with Aleksandar (whom I haven't seen... since 1979?) over skype a couple of times, with home, then with Žarko (luckily has a mobile), and it's become obvious that the organizer screwed them up... so we somehow arranged it so that they should take the Chinese bus and we'll meet them tomorrow night in VB. Him and his pal, that is. I'm flying home tomorrow, and should be home a couple of hours before that bus comes.
I see I patched a few things for Paige, nothing much.
On sezam, a discussion in few turns, about how ours complain when living in the US but still the return is not crossing their minds:
Wait a minute, it's about how the Amers are, not how we are :)
And on the other hand I'm not complaining. I'm not in a bad way, but less thanks to Amers... just that they didn't insist too much in hobbling me (lost employment four times, pal).
And I'll return, as a retiree, and will stuff everyone's ears with stories how it's here... for about six months a year, then go over there to strangle them with stories from SrbiYu*, then whichever side beats me up first.
/I lived for a year in Amerika, in few cities, worked here and tere, and never had better conditions for work and life!! True tere's no friendling as chez us, tere's no sitting in kafic until 4 morning (except in New Yorku and Californij) as chez us, but everyting else is 150 times better tan here**
It depends on how you look at it. Yes, nobody bothers you, and if you learn the ropes they won't cheat you for too much money. The phone and internet connections are mother Mara, the roads are super, the drivers are cultured and polite, hardware is cheap and easy to procure. When you start laying it like that, it's super.
Haven't been to Califates, but on Manhattan I've (in fisix turns) I spent a moon or two, and yes, it's a completely otherly world. There's probably friendling, but it all costs - there's none of someone dropping by for no reason, or that you just pop up at your neighbor's, it's people meeting wherever they are meeting. No idea where, that's mostly places with that sign-of-death outside (you know, two bars, horizontal and upright, intersecting, like on cemeteries), or around those matches they attend - which is equally not attracting me here as it was not at home. So I wouldn't know.
/ Wen** would in America a vice Minister of education be arrested for swindling the Fakultet funds !!, and not have the Minister of education resign at that ?? NEVER
Really :). These are worse than us. The vice president (sounds familiar) „severed all ties with the firm“ and deposits the cash from the dividends to some account which he allegedly can't touch during his mandate. Meanwhile that same firm gets phenomenal state contracts, spends money relentlessly, and there's some 9 billion (in words: 9.000.000.000 dolores) that they lost track of and can't explain - doesn't matter, that was three years ago, and since then got a few hundred billion in other contracts.
And in how many cases were the elected persons (governors, mayors, representatives at state and even federal level) were investigated during campaign, or won elections while incarcerated... that even Chuck Sheppard stopped recording, the case being retired as „no longer weird“.
/ Te US is a cruel country, and tere's no humanism suc as ONCE existed in Serbia , but in regards of order and law, tey are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar ahead of us
So it is, their legal system is the best money can buy. Just need to have the money.

Amers are as if all of them were drilled to strictly, but strictly, stick to the agenda, to answer only and only what is in the question, to not move a finger beyond what's on the checklist. They probably all got fucked up sooner or later when they didn't comply, so it was rammed into them.
There are rules and rules on how the ramming goes. When it comes to an emergency, the screwed up guy will not be the one who fucked up, but the one who can't prove that he applied the prescribed procedure (i.e. that he did all by the checklist). Also the guy who manages to solve the shit and save the day will not be celebrated for saving the day, if he broke the procedure. There one security guy chased a guy across half the town and finally forced him to surrender - and he'll do a bit of jail time now, because he entered a school grounds with a gun, never mind that it was a saturday night.
/Tere, ceers pal, when you go to NYC, have a coffee in Starbaks for me :))
There's Starbucks around here as well, even in my neighborhood, and the best of it is that each has wireless access, so you just unlid your laptop, sip (and true, they are the only with a sufferable coffee, only if you take regular - everything else is with vanilla flavor stinking of coconut, hazelnut flavor with no taste at all, and this artificial and that artificial - blyaaaaaaksz) and pretty women are passing through the town.
Just kidding. About this last thing. There's a huge mass of women passing, but distributed to an insufficient number of them.

* proper „iz Srbije“ (genitive case) is here „iz Srbiju“ (accusative case), which is customary in central Serbia, with ju replaced with Yu for symbolic value.
** replacing each th with a t (and omitting any other h-after-consonant) is what I sometimes do here to represent the effect these guys achieve by writing šžčć as szcc and đ as dj, it's ugly, it's engrbian but they are lazy and shift the burden to te reader.
