23-VIII-1970.: 15th birthday

In the morning went to Zmaj to get the finished films I wanted to show, but there wasn't anyone there who'd be able, or allowed, to issue them, so I visited Dimče (next building behind left end of Lesnina, all in the neighborhood) and he gave me what he had of my works, the "Blaženko" and that last one, plus one super 8 he made (don't remember what, some picnic, in color, the radishes were so red, I guess Duda was in a couple of scenes).

Around sunset Dragana and Tejka came, gave me the presents, I ran a couple of movies. Around 19:30 Gradivoj came, brought me a miniature Toledo sword, as a paper knife. Well, I may start getting mail... Dad ran the barbecue, made ćevapčići, of course. V. didn't come, she heard too late. Just when Gradivoj said "I can't possibly eat all of this, I'll need help", the help came. The bell rang (ah, the years when the bell actually worked) and there they were - Zvojko, Patak and two more guys. They brought a bunch of records, and I ran the "Something like that around that" (whatever... I still have no clue what was that movie about, it's an absolute blur... no matter that it was fifty years ago - I do remember other things).

Dragana and Tejka got a bit drunk, the latter even got messy - spilled drink, broke a glass (she was clumsy even sober, grew too fast and had trouble remembering how far her edges were), spilled coffee (powder, while cooking), tipped stuff off the top of the radio behind it). I spilled vinjak from someone's glass, even though I didn't drink.

I escorted the gang to the railway, and S. wanted to pull a prank on the ramp operator, something like a dozen of us rush the door and ask "excuse us, comrade, what time is it?" (as if we can't see his wall clock from the outside) or something like that. "No, better ask whether he heard the record 'Trla baba lan' was canceled - baba found a job" ("trla baba lan da joj prođe dan" - granny scrubbed the flax to pass the day - is an expression denoting a person doing any make work just to pass the time). "Let's ask him whether he knows that this railroad is closed, no trains anymore?" (which accidentaly became true in 2019...) Which was put into action, and it didn't quite work, the operator wasn't born yesterday, so he partly took it for a joke, partly just looked for a way to shoo us all away. The whole affair was hilarious and lasted all of two minutes, but was then retold for several days.
