fangla

(Translation, Yugoslavia)

Mason's ladle. They use it to throw mortar on the wall. I also used it for many other things, like filling and emptying the still when making rakija, washing the still or car window etc. Wherever you need to throw something liquid or to scoop it from a wider vessel.

They used to be made of sheet metal, with a handle riveted to it and with a wooden handlebar. Since the nineties they are plastic. majstors usually don't like these newfangled (pardon the pun, dismiss the firing squad) things, as they are mostly junk, made by someone who doesn't know how it's used, but in the case of fangla the plastic turned out to be much better, with it I scooped the snow off the cars, while we had snow.

I thought I must have an unknown number of shots where this thing would be in plain view, but nope, not even the fes would bring one, so finally in october of 2024 I made this shot, premeditatively, to put here.
