Today, on UA, thread about Europeans envying US on their health [system|industry|business]:

Sounds to me like you're acknowledging who has the best care...and have moved on to the price.

Price doesn't matter? Tell that to the VFP luminary who was in financial difficulty and apparently stopped buying her medication to meet bank payments. She died. Could never have happened in one of those systems you oppose.

That may be Tina. Crap, this system IS killing people.

In the afternoon, around 16:00, a counter rainbow. No rain, bright sky. The counter rainbow doesn't exist, actually, the center of the rainbow is where the line between the Sun and your head hits infinity, right?

There was a similar one on 8th, but much weaker, not too easy to spot on the photos, just that a couple of clouds had an, ahem, discoloration along an arc centered on sunset, not too visible on the photos. This time I was just as ready, i.e. the Fujica was at hand, so I shot a good series. Seven shots, plus a few airplanes criscrossing the sky before and after. I posted one on ppp and was booed out as a conspirologue. It's a natural phenomenon, buddy. Well sure, I'm in photography since 1967 and I love to stare at the sky because good clouds always look nice on a picture, so how come I started noticing these only recently? Where was the nature hiding them so far?

(actually, I saw perhaps two or three like this, shorter and lower on the horizon, and took shots of a couple; in the next year or two Nina also shot a few of those, and then the nature stopped doing its homework again)
