I created a database with chinese collation, and an instance of Feds in VM25 which connects to it, to accommodate the translation. The 25 was chosen as the least used one. There should be a 26 soon to replace it, though, but as this was urgent, the first option "clone me a VM so I can set it up for chinese" was abandoned, there's no way it can be done this fast.

Fiddled some with those little lock icons in CAAR, i.e. the buttons next to each field where they can lock it to prevent the next automatics overwrite a manually edited value. There was a lot of work and it was quite complicated but worked swimmingly in the end, and was rock solid. Though, don't know why did I do any of that today, that part was written back in 2008.

The next day, another skype session, just to track the twins, how they manage. Well, it looks rather merry, they are lively and curious, and the sister is watching over them.
