At the corner I don't find fun nor friends anymore. Everyone seems to be picking on me there, for whichever reason. Defined my goals there as 1) abruptly leave if someone starts bulshitting and return only if mind changed, 2) no response to insults or catcalls (unless I come up with an ingenious response), all in "you don't merit my attention" style.
Meanwhile, tried with a couple of guys to make a band. We had one real instrument, my accordeon; one of them borrowed something with strings, I guess a guitar, but couldn't even tune it or understand why it needed tuning. The third guy would just slap the top of a stool, he'd be the drummer. They didn't even understand why we need to have a common rhythm. The two rehearsals didn't last a whole hour altogether. At least I think I gave im some idea how many basics they don't grasp, so "look at that guy - I can do that too!" got its proper answer "no you can't, you need to learn a bunch of stuff first". For once I was an expert at something practical.
Ah, yes, we had a name: "VIS Brodolomnici" - "The shipwrecked". Apt. "VIS" was the official name for rock/pop bands (not that they were distinguished by any but the knowledgeable few), "vokalno-instrumentalni sastav" (...assembly), which is not even a name, it's a description. Worse, the word "band" translates directly into "banda", which may mean musicians when spoken with hungarian accent and relating to firemen's orchestra. In any other context, banda is a gang. So that word was out, and it would take another year until the word "grupa" would replace this - later this year Grupa 220 (with Drago Mlinarec) would publish the first rock LP in SFRY; Korni grupa would be formed. Having two prominent bands use the word has helped a lot.
On 14th I became a member of the foto sekcija in Zmaj*. There was another girl of interest, Lj, and she may have been interested, but she'd vanish from the horizon for long periods. I remember seeing her almost regularly there, and then not at all for weeks. (checked with Dragana in 2020 because Lj, as far as I remember, was in VIII3 - but no, she doesn't remember anyone with such a name).
On 23rd (which I wrote down almost a year later) I got acquanited with Đica. No details.
Body of Stevan Marković found near Paris. He was the bodyguard for Alain Dellon. The Marković affair will unravel over the years, with Dellon and former prime minister (and future president) Georges Pompidou were involved. Troubles in Ulster aka Northern Ireland began. Wasn't clear to me that this is actually Brittain. An employment accord between FR Germany and SFRY was signed - the era of legal gastarbajter begins. Jacqueline Kennedy married Onasis.
