Sanda and Linda are born. Now the date is a technical matter, as the older one was born at 6:50 phillipino time, which is here 23:50 yesterday and the younger at 7:05 which is today 00:05 here. The birth happened at their rented apartment in this huge gated community near Manilla. Ender pumped up the pool and unrolled the hose and then found out that the hose is too wide for every faucet in the house, so the birth in water was cancelled. The midwife came on time.

It didn't happen quite smoothly, though - Sanda came out one leg and butt first, even though just a few days before that she was in regular position. Then Linda came out in a balloon - her placenta didn't burst, so the midwife had to tear it open. The bed was already padded with some soaking sheets, good thinking. She took some fifteen minutes to start breathing, but the umbilical was unobstructed so there was no hurry. They were 6lbs each.

It seems they are identical. There are slight differences but (I'm writing this on 18th) they seem to shift and vanish. Sanda's face seems to be somewhat wider, and her earlobe has one tip, where Linda's has two - but that's one of the things which will probably change.

After the first message (21:30) "my water burst, Ender is filling the pool" there were no other messages for a while. She went to sleep and I was just sitting around when at 1:35 the first picture (Linda on Nina's right shoulder, Violet on the other, looking at her new sister) came in, then at 1:41 one of Sanda, upright with eyes somewhat open.

Raja was sound asleep in the other room. Woke up around noon, saw the girls, concluded "ah, they're finally out" and went on to play on his tablet. The experienced older brother.

And we didn't drink much - the apricot is stronger than our other rakijas, but we stayed awake until 4:30 at least, properly drunk.
