Going through her materials for the tests, just looking at what she'd have to prepare. It looks like she'd have to pass TOEFL* first, then the whole medical school with residence aka staž. (... 128 words...)

The next batch from UScrew is due in two days. Probably some more stuff being brought (dry pastry for the soup was mentioned). Presently, Joška and another guy or two are here. He bought a little digital camera, pocket sized but does video too (post stamp size, I guess 240x160), made a bunch of shots and then forgot it in a bus. Local bus, which I used a total of once while here - going to one of the very few Zero's parties. Usually when someone's leaving.

Had some exchange with the new greek girl in Avai. Where did Vanji find her, I wish I knew. There's also another guy, and Joja is still there - didn't jump into UScrew.

An anecdote from UA:

While working for the pre eminent Urine Analysis Company for less than one hour, I was given the task to solve a serious problem. A consultant had written a program that decided to stop working and it was the main billing and chemical analysis program for the company. Result - no billing for the month and many records had invalid data (law suite time). Invalid data could mean people going to jail, which is serious business.

After looking at the code I found the following naming convention. All parameters and variables had the following prefix: pp_ - not bad for a urine analysis company you say? Well, I found the problems, solved them and told our director about this convention. The director thought it was very unprofessional - however, it may have been just a programmers sense of humor at a company that had no standards.

On 18th we had our first tripod for the Agfa. Cost barely 20$, flimsy little thing, but hey, it's not that the little shooter has much of a zoom. Put it in front of the TV, and plugged in the video output cable, which just sends the image from the little screen to the big one. And then turned on the recording on the VCR and thus finally had some video of ourselves. Not that it did any good - the main property of VHS and tapes in general is that things get lost and overwritten. But Lena and I at least had some fun with it.
