Worked with Rick on a better, unfuckable version of newid.prg, which would return a correct primary key no matter what. I think we got it right. I know I used this for years afterwards, but I'm not sure we got far with incorporating it into Hossy, as it used the ready vpm code.
On the western front, there's a paper I signed to send to that friend in Utah, to work in that telemarketing outfit. Telemarketing is something I despise. Well, the whole of advertising is a special low rank of scum for me, and telemarketing ranks even lower as an overly aggressive method. This paper was an actual offer - they'd give me 63000$ plus 3000$ for relocation. Living among them mormons would be interesting, to say the least. That this dwindled to nothing in a few days is a non-solution to this dilemma - first they changed their mind and revoked the offer, or someone who was supposed to sign it just wasn't there, this being right after christmas and whatnot, and then my friend switched jobs as well so the whole thing became a non-starter.
Some emails with Magi, says we're missing out on the fun: they have 4 hours with power, then 8 without. She's divorced now and has a roommate (in that same house or not, don't remember, but I think Loba left her the house).

IOW, I asked for 80K$, they can offer 70K$... well, what with the difference in the cost of living out there, with the commute, rent and cost of pretty everything else being so much higher than in this little old town, plus given the work environment (smoking only outside of building, parking in that claustrophobic garage, leash with the lean-to card always on your neck, the glass cage building with slim chances of having a window in the office, and, worst of all, vpm), perhaps this is for [the]* better.
