29-V-2023.

Didn't celebrate Nina's birthday much. Just kissed her, all of us in, well, respective mornings - when she woke up, around lunchtime.

Until then I had already made a round to see Magi's mom, who got into another paranoid fit on the phone the day before. Kept talking of how her neighbors fucked up her TV to gaslight her into selling the apartment, but then around midnight the TV got back to normal, and now at nine the Telekom guys will come to give her a contract to sign, she's not signing nothing. I guessed the signal was jammed saturday afternoon, during the big protests, because one channel (TV N1) showed it live, but no, they could easily just disable that one channel and leave the rest, and then she said it was on thursday. The protest was third friday in a row, this time on saturday because SNS organized a big counterprotest on friday, and the protest was almost twice as large as the counter, despite both being rained on.

While I was there, a woman from the hood came by, she's cooking for her, so we chatted for half an hour. Paranoia gone, there's company for chat now. The Telekom guys, of course, didn't show up.

Having celebrated a bit the night before, with a late start, because we first talked with Lena, then with Stanley and Go, I took a nap in the afternoon, which I wasn't doing for days. I took the yellow room carpet, because Violet had the couch, she's nightshift again. Then Linda kicked me gently in the ribs with her tiny foot, to move because she needed to dress and I was blocking access to the cabinet under the aquarium. I just rolled over to the bedside of the carpet. Then twony minutes later Sanda does the same - we're finished, you can move back.

Baba took them to Springfield, and less than two hours later there was another rain, I lost count how many days in the row it was, so I fired up Joda and joined them. We took a kilo of ćevapčići and a dose of fries, for Raja and Violet to dine on. We got some buns, three ćevapčići fit in each, exactly a light dinner.

Thirtieth. A guy on burundi wrote:

And long ago I met a guy, former prof on ETF, who made the system for charging the parking. The whole system was developed here, what with cameras which read the tags and locations.

Um, yeah, and still it was developed being ŠĐČĆŽ blind... There was this whole ruckus in 2011-13 about troubles with that. The tags did contain these letters then, and then these were removed for exactly that reason. Here, the tags in the ZR-nnn-cc are now over 200 in the number area, and the last tags with the diacriticals were around 090. The diacriticals were drawn badly on them, there wasn't enough vertical space, and the bar on Đ was too short, so it's possible that the poor app didn't have enough to distingush them by.

Thirtyfirst, mostly messing with wine in linux and there was no way to

To Čankovo in the afternoon. Got stuff done - I finished mowing the front part of the orchard and the piece by summer kitchen; she checked on the blackberries and picked what cherries were ripe. Which was sad, got just 5kg from our biggest tree, which is 7m in diameter and should carry at least six times that. Then the rain began just when we were finished. En route home we passed through two showers, three drizzles, one solid rain and four dry patches. The forecast has this ongoing until weekend. Weather is stable, unchanging.

By evening decided that the censored Byo, v1.2 (v. Version), is complete and checked enough to publish, i.e. upload to sGradlj.com. So I ftp'd it. It took a long time, despite better speed, because I removed the button for it back in october, and it shipped all the files that were changed since, of which there were hundreds. Didn't wait, let it run and went upstairs, watched Killjoys, third season. This year I have, after Foundation and initial rummage through Star wars (Mandalorian just bad, too disneyfied; Book of Boba Fett really good). Watched Stargate Atlantis and SG-1, in that order, until about eighth season. It goes downhill when Claudia Black becomes a recurring character, then a regular, can't stand her. Then watched Firefly/Serenity, excellent, except I can't see why does Xkcd have the hots for Summer Glau... And now I stumbled upon these. There would be room to write a comparative critique of the three (with maybe room to include Babylon 5), but I'm just too busy with Byo.

Thirtyfirst kept trying to fix the problem in current Byo - its current incarnation under wine has crashed each time I used the stevka (aka clipboard, v. house dictionary). Found that the wine version was around 6, current was 8, so I went on and upgraded. And then lost the đčć (kept šž) because these three aren't compatible with american windows. Lost the whole day trying to fix the problem, got nowhere - no matter what I do, it enforces the 1252/437, writes it back into its registry. Whatever I type or paste, loses all five characters. So... back to the virtual box.

Next day wasted even more time raising one. I, of course killed the old W7's virtual C:, but kept its side drive, so I had fox there. I wrote these two paragraphs in it, eventually - in the afternoon - but the background process which tries to call psql to pass the changes to postgres is complaining every couple of minutes, my search window is somewhere invisible on the second monitor and I can't find it... all sorts of trouble. Just because someone at WineHQ thought that World of Warcraft is more important than codepages. I'll have to move it all to python, fuck this suffering.

This time I shared no links to Byo 1.2, and while there were some visits the first day, these were, as far as I could see, mostly bots and crawlers. Second day I have only the first eight hour sample (1st of the month) and for that time it gathered 2700 pageviews over all of the site. Someone did a systemic reading of page 1001, page 1002 etc, interesting if person. [is not, checked the raw logs, it's a handful of bots... well, this was an event, at least for them.] Also, both language versions were visited.

On third, finally a day without rain, quite nice, and a saturday, so Lena and Milan could come. I did the barbecue, as usual, but they actually preferred her pohovano, even though it was „brainy“, i.e. the cover was wrinkled.

This was more or less a belated celebration of all five birthdays we have in may (Anita, Lena, Milan, Violet, Nina), so there was the mudcake, candles (nine). No drinks, did that last night.

Lena is doing interviews in several directions, just because she's saddled with her current boss and then a few other things are also wrong, specially that her next trip should be to SF, the shit capital of the US. But there's an app so if you walk up a street it can warn you of known turds. Passed this to burundi but was asked to cross check. Well, daughter did the checking already, asshole. Should I not trust my IT aware daughters?
